Sounds scary, doesn't it? This sometimes happens - people lose their photos and videos from important events: vacations, weddings, photo shoots, etc.
This never happens to us, and here's why:
1. When shooting is finished, the video from all memory cards is copied to a separate folder with your shooting.
2. Then we carefully check the footage so as not to forget to copy anything. We review and check the availability of footage from all moments from each camera, from the drone, sound recorder.
3. After checking for the presence of files, we check that they open and play, including sound.
4. We completely copy the folder with all the footage to an external hard drive and check it. We turn off the disk and put it in the box.
5. Take another external drive and copy the footage to it too.
6. All footage is uploaded to the server in the cloud. Yes, a lot of space is required, but now we are not even afraid of physical damage on all disks at once.
7. After giving the video to you, we store the source footage and the finished video for quite a long time, however, after a few months we have to free up space for new projects. Sources have to be deleted.
8. We move the finished video to archive hard drives, it also remains stored in the cloud. How long? We cannot guarantee the lifetime safety of your video with us, but we do not delete it on purpose.
So how do you store your important data? There is only one answer - make copies. On different media, in different places, in the cloud.
In our experience, there are about a dozen broken hard drives, but this is not critical for us, because there are always several copies, which is what we want for you.
